Demand-response transit applications include University safe ride programs, on-demand support for fixed-route transit systems, and shuttle services. TransLoc OnDemand can also help replace low-performing routes to help streamline the efficiency of an agency’s entire system.
Riders request a ride through the TransLoc OnDemand app by selecting pickup and dropoff locations. Rides can be limited by predetermined service times and geographic area.
Once a request is submitted, the driver is automatically notified and dispatched using GPS location to reduce missed pickups. The rider can track their vehicle’s approach in real time and will receive a text message when the vehicle has arrived.
