We also collect information in a form that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
Our websites and online services use cookies and similar technologies to operate and to help collect data. Cookies are small text files placed on your device to store data that can be recalled by a web server in the same domain that placed the cookie. The text in a cookie often consists of a string of numbers and letters that uniquely identifies your device, but it can contain other information as well.
Cookies on our websites are used to store your preferences and settings, enable you to sign-in, combat fraud, analyze how our products perform, and fulfill other legitimate purposes.
Our websites may also contain electronic images known as web beacons (also called single-pixel gifs) that we use to help deliver cookies on our websites, count users who have visited those websites, and gather usage and performance data. We also include web beacons in our promotional email messages or newsletters to determine whether you open and act on them, and in our ads appearing on other sites to measure the performance of those ads.
Our websites often include web beacons and cookies from third-party service providers. In some cases, that is because we have hired the third party to provide services on our behalf, such as site analytics or advertising. In other cases, it is because our web pages contain third-party content (such as embedded videos, maps, plug-ins, or ads) that contain web beacons used to determine the effectiveness and track your interaction with that content. When your browser connects to a third party’s web server to retrieve content and/or web beacons, that third party is able to set or read its own cookies on your device and may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites or online services that also contain that third party’s content or web beacons.
For example, our websites and apps may use one or more of Uservoice, Sentry, Instabug, Pendo, HubSpot, Google Analytics third-party analytics tools, to track page content and click/touch, movement, scroll, and keystroke activity. You can find more information on these vendors’ privacy practices on their websites.
Mobile advertising ID controls. Apple and Android mobile devices each generate an advertising identifier that can be accessed by apps and used by advertisers in much the same way that cookies are used on websites. Each operating system provides options to limit tracking and/or reset the advertising ID.
Browser cookie controls. Web browsers vary on whether they are set to accept various types of cookies by default. You can go to your browser settings to learn how to delete or reject cookies. If you choose to delete or reject cookies, this could affect certain features or services of our website. If you choose to delete cookies, settings and preferences controlled by those cookies, including advertising preferences, may be deleted and may need to be recreated.
Do Not Track. Some browsers have incorporated “Do Not Track” (DNT) features that can send a signal to the websites you visit indicating you do not wish to be tracked. Because there is not a common understanding of how to interpret the DNT signal, our websites do not currently respond to browser DNT signals. Instead, you can use the range of other tools to control data collection and use, including the cookie controls and advertising controls described above.
Email web beacons. You can disable web beacons in email messages by changing the settings on your email client to prevent the automatic downloading of images.

Finally, we may share de-identified information in accordance with applicable law.
Please note that some of our products include references or links to products or services provided by third parties whose privacy practices differ from ours. For example, some of our website features incorporate the Google reCAPTCHA tool, which collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, in order to perform integrity checks and help prevent bots from using the feature. Your use of the reCAPTCHA tool is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Use.
Additionally, some of our websites and services include mapping features provided by Google, and Microsoft (Bing Maps), and MapBox, which will collect and use personal information, including location information. If you use those mapping services, provide personal information to any of those third parties, or consent to our sharing personal information with them, the personal information they receive is governed by their privacy statements available via the above links. Understanding TransLoc Rider & Privacy
The following are terms of a legal agreement between you and TransLoc. By accessing, browsing, or using this website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this website.
TransLoc’s mission is to make mass transit the first choice for everyone, but never at the expense of your privacy. Your trust is incredibly important to us. Because of this, we want to be very clear about what information we collect in our TransLoc Rider mobile applications and how we use it.
WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
We collect non-personal device location information. This includes an app-specific device ID and GPS location.
The app-specific device ID is unique to the TransLoc Rider application and is not connected to any other mobile application on your device. Non-personal means your app-specific device ID is not connected to any personally identifying information, such as name, phone number, email, etc. TransLoc Rider has no access to this type of personal information.
HOW WE USE THIS INFORMATION
We aggregate device location information and combine it with real-time transit information in order to help transit agencies understand how riders use their transit system.
WHY WE COLLECT THIS INFORMATION
Transit agencies lack essential information to plan great transit service. For example, agencies lack information about where riders start and end their travels. This information is the core of understanding transit need and creating more desirable, accessible transit for everyone.
HOW WE INFORM APP USERS
When a user first launches TransLoc Rider we proactively inform them that upon enabling Location Services their device’s location information is being collected. We also make it clear users can always turn off location reporting in the TransLoc Rider app and still use the real-time tracking with no change to their experience.
TransLoc OnDemand Privacy Policy
By registering with our OnDemand application (“OnDemand”), you agree to this privacy policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not register with, access, or use OnDemand. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of third-party websites or applications.

- Geographical location;
- Operating system and version;
- Device type and model;
- Browser type and version.
- We may use this information in the administration of OnDemand, to improve the app’s usability.
WHY WE COLLECT
In addition to the uses identified elsewhere in this privacy policy, we may use your personal information to:
- Provide information to your transit agency about the usage of its OnDemand system; and
- Send vehicle arrival notification information to you on behalf of the agency, e.g. specifically, we will notify you via SMS text message when a driver is approaching your pickup location.
Additionally, we provide anonymized origin and destination data to transit agencies. This data improves an agency’s ability to plan and execute improvements to their system.
HOW WE PROTECT
We work hard to protect users’ information from unauthorized access, unauthorized alteration, disclosure, and destruction. We do this using industry standard encryption protocols.
Children Under the Age of 13
OnDemand is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and no one under age 13 may provide any information to OnDemand. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information through OnDemand. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.
HOW TO OPT OUT
If you would like to remove your personal account information, please email accounts@transloc.com and include your OnDemand username and the email associated with your account to have your information removed from TransLoc’s systems. If you need to update your name, phone number, email address, or personal addresses, you may do so through OnDemand at any time.
DO NOT TRACK
