TransLoc's Tyler Means recognized as a 2020 Mass Transit 40 under 40 recipient

Tyler Means recognized for industry involvement and commitment to improving mobility access

DURHAM, N.C., August 18, 2020 – Today, Mass Transit magazine honors Tyler Means, Manager of Solutions Engineering at TransLoc, with its prestigious 2020 “40 Under 40 Award.”

The magazine has recognized individuals for their industry contributions and who have shown a capacity for innovation, demonstrated leadership, and a commitment to making an impact in transit.

“Each day I endeavour to provide top-quality transportation solutions to create a seamless mobility experience for those most in need,” Means commented. “It is humbling to know that those efforts have been recognized, and I am proud to receive such a prestigious distinction from one of the leading industry magazines.”

Means was recognized for his dedication to equity and accessibility during his ten years in transit, including pioneering TransLoc’s Fixed to Flex program which helped transit agencies quickly pivot from fixed route to on demand services during COVID-19 to meet changing community needs.

A record number of nominations were received for this year’s honor. Criteria for selection included such things as job commitment, industry involvement and contribution, achievement in his or her position and innovation in his or her field. The evaluation process resulted in a group of young professionals who represent a diverse cross section of skills and disciplines required to make this industry what it is.
