DURHAM, N.C., September 17, 2021 – TransLoc, a leader in transit orchestration software and a part of the Ford mobility portfolio*, now provides on-demand services to one of the largest transportation providers in Tennessee –– Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA).

MATA has recognized TransLoc as a key partner since 2019 when it first implemented RealTime service, an intuitive platform designed for accurate and efficient tracking. The following year, MATA launched microtransit services in three underserved communities, working to improve mobility by reallocating resources for underperforming routes. Today, riders can book on-demand transportation using Ready! by MATA, a curb-to-curb option available in southwest Memphis through the Transloc app.

MATA’s Chief Executive Officer, Gary Rosenfeld, comments, “We’re excited to continue partnering with TransLoc to improve accessibility and overall experience for our riders, helping us fulfill our mission to connect people to places.” The agency strives for service excellence and exceptional customer experience while working to inspire the community to invest in local transit success.

“There has always been a push to improve mobility access for underserved areas in the communities MATA operates in,” further remarks LeeAnna Wiggs, TransLoc’s Senior Client Success Manager. “It simply made sense for them to adopt on-demand services in Boxtown, Westwood, and Whitehaven in addition to fixed-routes.”
