Equity and Access: How to build a more just mobility community

The Movement podcast goes live at CoMotion with panelists from across the mobility industry.

DURHAM, N.C., July 21, 2020 – Josh Cohen, TransLoc National Director of Policy and host of The Movement podcast, moderates a panel on leadership at the CoMotion Live conference tomorrow, Wednesday, July 22.

The interactive panel discussion, Equity & Access: How to Build a More Just Mobility Community, features transportation and city leaders discussing what cities should look like in the future, how to deliver mobility, and what equity looks like in the context of both the built environment and transportation. Together, Josh and the panelists will tackle how to ensure mobility truly achieves its role as a human right with equitable access for all.

“Governments, transport providers, and mobility operators are all engaged in a long overdue discussion on equity, justice, and systemic racism, rethinking how they can better serve disenfranchised and marginalized communities,” said Josh Cohen, TransLoc’s National Director of Policy. “It is critical that we move beyond talk and enact change to better serve disenfranchised and marginalized persons.”

Equity & Access: How to Build a More Just Mobility Community kicks off Wednesday, July 22 at 1 p.m. EDT/10 a.m. PDT, and features President and CEO of Smart Growth America, Calvin Gladney, Director of Mobility Innovation at Elemental Excelerator, Danielle Harris, and Senior Mobility Strategist for the City of Detroit’s Office of Mobility Innovation, Stacey Matlen. Those wishing to attend can register here.
