Atlantic Station, a mixed-use development in midtown Atlanta, and Boston University, the largest university in Massachusetts, recently launched TransLoc for their respective bus systems.
Atlantic Station is a high-density, mixed-use community that combines residential, shopping, office, and retail to minimize the number of single-occupancy vehicle trips. Residents and visitors can easily walk to work, dine, or shop or take the FREE RIDE shuttle that services Atlantic Station and the nearby public transit station.
Now, shuttle riders can get real-time bus locations and arrival times on the web and mobile phone. Atlantic Station shuttle riders join other Atlanta shuttle riders at Emory University and the Savannah College of Art & Design’s Atlanta campus in using TransLoc to improve their transit experience.
Boston University becomes TransLoc’s fifth Boston client, joining Harvard University, MASCO, Boston College, and Children’s Hospital Boston. The Boston University Shuttle (The BUS) takes riders from the main Charles River campus to the Medical Campus. Especially because of the harsh winters in Boston, BUS riders will particularly benefit from real-time information online and on mobile phones.
