TransLoc, WRTA Microtransit Partner

DURHAM, N.C., Sept. 13, 2019 – TransLoc, the leader in transit technology solutions, has announced the launch of YOURide, an agency-owned microtransit program in partnership with Western Reserve Transit Authority in Mahoning County, Ohio.

“This partnership with Transloc provides our passengers an improved transportation choice, giving WRTA’s passengers better access to the area served with YOURide,” Dean Harris, Executive Director of WRTA commented. “With YOURide, WRTA will be able to provide a more direct trip on a schedule more suited to our passengers’ travel plans.”

The on-demand shuttle service will operate in the Boardman area, supplementing existing fixed-route services in the zone, which have limited evening schedules. This much-needed night service will connect riders and employees to shops and restaurants in the U.S. Route 224 retail corridor, as well as major-fixed route hubs in the area.

“We are thrilled to enter this partnership with Western Reserve Transit Authority,” Ron Cygnarowicz, TransLoc’s vice president of customers said. “The future of transit is a more seamless mobility experience; it is an honor to help WRTA create a more holistic transportation ecosystem in the Youngstown area.”

Microtransit allows transit agencies to deploy Uber-like shuttles or vans to riders in areas with limited or no fixed-route services, providing passengers with much-needed public transportation options, less costly than traditional ride-hailing services. TransLoc is committed to making public transit the number one choice for all, by providing municipalities, transit agencies, and their riders with the mobility solutions they deserve.

All YOURide vans are wheelchair accessible and run from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The introductory fare is just $1 per trip. The app also allows riders to track their pickup vehicles in real-time.
