Shares how to create a seamless airport transportation system

DURHAM, N.C., June 29, 2021, – TransLoc, award-winning provider of transit technology software solutions, will participate in today’s Infraday Airport Infrastructure Summit virtual event. TransLoc’s Manager of Outside Sales Kirt Heywood will lead the “Smart Airports” panel discussion.

Just as a smart home is where internet-connected devices control functions like security and thermostats, smart airports use cloud-based technologies to simplify and improve services. According to Architectural Record published in 2019, over 50 airports in the US are projected to account for up to $70 billion in construction projects in the next three years. These projects not only focus on renovation and modification, but also aim to refurbish, manufacture, install and operate the ITT systems.

In the Infraday session, Heywood will join Asmita Gharat, Project Manager of Corporate Real Estate at American Airlines; Brian Mulcahy, Director of Finance at Des Moines Airport Authority; Cody Bauman, Director of Operations at Greenville-Spartanburg International; D. Scott Lanter, Director of Public Safety and Operations at Blue Grass Airport; and Megan Atkins Thoben, Director of Operations & Business Development at Louisville Regional Airport Authority.

Together, they will examine how airport owners and operators utilize “smart airport” solutions to create better experiences for landside and airside stakeholders of airport transportation operations. Finally, they will demonstrate that by implementing increased functionality such as robust infotainment systems, signage for real-time shuttle tracking, branded mobile apps and integration with native airport apps, airport operators can create a seamless transportation experience for employees and travelers alike.

The virtual panel begins at 1:40 p.m. EDT on June 29, 2021. For more information or to register for the event, click here.
