TransLoc is Recognized Three Years Consecutively for Continued Resilience, Growth, and Social Responsibility

DURHAM, N.C., December 1, 2021 – TransLoc, a leader in innovative transit technology and mobility solutions, has been named a silver winner in Most Resilient Company of the Year in the Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged each year by prominent editors and reporters from top-tier publications in North America.

Recognized for resilience, growth, and social responsibility throughout the past year –– TransLoc has remained anchored in its commitment to providing affordable, accessible, and safe transit options. In response to ridership declines and the urgent need for essential employees to get to work during COVID-19, TransLoc launched  ‘Fixed to Flex,’ to provide transit agencies with the technology required to deploy responsive services that could support evolving rider demands and adhere to quickly-changing health guidelines.

The pandemic forced transit providers to become more reactive and nimble in their offerings, but many lacked the technology and expertise to do so in real-time. Offering access to its suite of software capabilities, Fixed to Flex helped agencies pivot high-capacity services to on-demand models – providing transportation to the 2.8 million front-line service workers that relied on public transit, while limiting costs. For healthcare workers, TransLoc helped the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, for example, grow from a two-vehicle solution doing an average of 45 rides per day, to a four-vehicle solution facilitating over 130 rides per day.

In addition to its flexible service offerings, TransLoc launched several campaigns throughout the pandemic. When transit routes didn’t have enough riders, TransLoc’s adaptive services reallocated vehicles and staff to deliver PPE to senior homes, hospitals and other frontline stakeholders. Not only did this give back to local communities, but also provided transit employees with a stable job during a time of economic uncertainty.

“We connect people to places. When the pandemic halted connection for many, we had to come up with ways for providers to stay mobile,” TransLoc’s Vice President of Product Andy Lawrenz remarks. “In a sink or swim scenario, we focused on optimizing solutions for transit providers as riders’ needs evolved. At the end of the day, it’s about making sure operations remained accessible to those who needed it, and that the options were safe and convenient for riders.”

2021 marked the 11th annual Best in Biz Awards and, following the depredation of the global pandemic, resoundingly confirmed that American business is back and stronger than ever before. This year’s program saw intense competition among more than 700 impressively strong entries from public and private companies of all sizes and spanning all geographic regions and industries in the U.S. and Canada, ranging from some of the best known global brands to the most innovative start-ups and irrepressible local companies. This year’s judges were impressed with the winning companies’ resilience and adaptability that allowed them to turn the challenges of the past 20 months into remarkable growth numbers, their exemplary dedication to their customers in matters small and large, and particularly, many winners’ efforts to maintain and deepen their commitment to the environment and local communities.
